US Domestic Airlines Regulations for Carry-on LuggageBy Laurie Freeman Passengers flying within the 50 United States are limited to one (1) carry-on item according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)) which must be small enough to store below your seat or in the overhead compartment. In addition to the one (1) carry-on, you may also carry one personal item, for example, a backpack, briefcase, handbag, or laptop.
