If you have the desire to fly a private or commercial plane in the United States, you must obtain first a pilot's license. To obtain a pilot's license, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has the following requirements for you to follow and pass:

- You must be over 17 years of age

- You must be able to speak English

- You must pass the basic medical test

- You must pass a written knowledge test
